Who we are

Crypto Sydney operates the website at crypto-sydney.com. We are an independent publisher of general information about cryptocurrency in Sydney and New South Wales. We are not a financial services provider and we do not operate customer accounts.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it to reply and to improve the site, and we do not add you to any mailing list or sell it to anyone.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our host records standard server log data including IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of the request. This is used for security and for understanding aggregate traffic patterns.

Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages readers find useful, in aggregate. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

We do not ask for or collect financial information, identity documents, wallet addresses, seed phrases or passwords. There is no reason for you to give us any of those, and you should not.

Cookies and affiliate tracking

Our own site uses minimal cookies. However, when you click an outbound affiliate link, the destination provider and its affiliate network may set cookies to attribute the referral. Those cookies are governed by the destination site's privacy policy, not ours.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not affect your ability to read anything on this site.

Third parties

We link to external websites including exchanges, regulators and government agencies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies before providing them with personal information. All external links on this site are marked nofollow.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving the font files.

How we use and share information

We use the limited information we hold to respond to enquiries, maintain and secure the website, and understand aggregate readership. We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties except where required by law or where necessary to operate the site (for example, our hosting provider).

Retention and security

We keep email correspondence only as long as it is useful for the purpose it was sent, and server logs for a limited period. We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold, though no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act you may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Given how little we collect, this will usually mean any email correspondence. Contact contact@crypto-sydney.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Children

This site is intended for adults. Australian crypto platforms require users to be at least 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
